Thomas wins the best FYP in structures

Thomas McLean's Final Year Project on "Optimal forms of regolith-based arches subject to inertial loading in low-gravity conditions" was awarded the Best Structures Project of the Undergraduate MEng 2020 Cohort at Imperial. Tom's work, explored the use of limit-thrust line analysis to find optimal forms of constant-thikness and variable-thickness arches for extraterrestrial applications.  Tom's superb work has already contributed to one journal paper (open access link) and antoher one is currently being drafted. Congratulations Tom!
