About me

Elisabeth Wilhelm is a visiting researcher in the department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London. After receiving her diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2012 she got a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2015.

Her research interests are in the field of tactile human machine interfaces for assistive technology and rehabilitation. She is currently developing a rehabilitation robot for assessing deficits in tactile sensation in the hand.

Her dissertation was on the development of a microfluidic Braille display. This research was carried out in the Lab of Dr. B. E. Rapp (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) under collaboration with the Study Centre for the Visually Impaired (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology).
