Data analysis and modelling

Imperial College is a world leading technical institute, with access to cutting edge computational facilities, and a demonstrated leadership in developing computer modelling tools for environmental science and engineering applications. Although a variety of computational tools are used across the College, one of the core modelling infrastructure in Imperial College is the Firedrake finite element framework. Firedrake is the computational engine behind the Thetis project, Imperial’s in-house ocean modelling infrastructure. Imperial College also hosts the Data Science Institute, which provides expertise on a range of topics, including data learning, analytics and visualization.

Modelling and data analytics are areas of particular interest in the departments of Mathematics, Physics, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences and Engineering.
