Imperial College Archives -  Past to Present:

Imperial College has a rich history in terms of individuals associated with the College and the advancement of scientific and technological teaching and research. The institution is constantly adapting to changes in knowledge and responding to external developments with new courses and emphases. The history of Imperial College is complex, but can be traced from its Constituent College beginnings to the present through the material held in the College Archives.

College Archives Responsibilities:

  • Act as custodians for the Imperial College Archives and deposited papers.
  • Provide information and assistance to both internal and external users regarding current and non-current (archive) records.
  • Provide material to support internal and external outreach and development.

Access and regulations for researchers:

Admission to Imperial College Archives is by appointment only to bona fide scholars. Prior proof of status, proof of identity and a description of the research project is required.

Opening hours:

Monday to Friday 10am - 5pm.

N.B. Opening hours are at the discretion of the College Archivist, and may be subject to alteration.
