Where is data on Salesforce stored and is it GDPR compliant?
All of the data Imperial stores on Salesforce is held between two data centres, one in the UK and another in a location within the EU (the exact location changes periodically). You can find more information on the Salesforce website.
The Salesforce platform has been reviewed and deemed acceptable for staff/students of the College to use and a viable platform to hold personal data. However, it remains the responsibility of each and every data owner to ensure that suitable controls and procedures are applied to ensure that the data is handled appropriately. For guidance on the principles of data protection, contact the College Data Protection Officer.
Salesforce meets the following security and data privacy industry standards:
- SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC3
- PCI DSS
