Data roaming – Europe

All College mobile phones have O2’s “Roam Like at Home” service activated as standard which includes:

Making calls and sending texts within the Europe Zone to any other country in the Europe Zone (including the UK).

Receiving calls and texts in the Europe Zone.

Using your monthly data allowance whilst in the Europe Zone.

What’s not included?

Making calls or sending texts from the UK, to countries outside of the UK.

Making calls or sending texts to premium rate numbers, directory service numbers and some non-geographic numbers (which can vary over time). Find out more

Mobile broadband tariffs, as they can only be used in the UK.

For more information and to see a list of countries that are part of the Europe Zone please visit the O2 website.

Data only connections such as mobile broadband or iPad connections have been enabled with O2 Travel which allows usage of up to 200MB of data per day for a daily cost of £1.66 (exc. VAT).

Data roaming – outside of Europe

By default, the standard data tariff is applied to all College connections which provides 50MB of data per month for a cost of £33.34 (exc. VAT).

Users that require more than this can ask to be moved onto the heavy user option which provides up to 200MB of data at a cost of £100 (exc. VAT) per month. However, for regular travellers there are a couple of data bolt-ons available which represent much better value for money in most countries:

The Rest of the World 24-Hour Pass costs £7.50 (exc. VAT) daily and provides 500MB of data per day in North America or 200MB in places such as China, Australia and South America.

Also included is up to 200 minutes of calls and 200 text messages per day.

Please see the O2 website for more information on the Rest of the World 24-Hour Pass, the allowances for each country and how to add it to your connections.

For extensive travellers we recommend the Rest of the World 30 Day Pass which is a monthly rather than a daily charge. For £99 (exc. VAT) per month users will receive up to 5GB of data in North America and 2GB in many other destinations.

This also includes 2,000 minutes and 2,000 text messages during the 30 day period.

Please see the O2 website for further information on the Rest of the World 30 Day Pass, the allowances for each country and how to add it to your connection.
