Cisco Unity Voicemail is one of the voicemail services we offer at Imperial College London.

Who is it for?

We only offer Cisco Unity Voicemail in exceptional circumstances. Cisco Unity Voicemail is for those members of staff and departments at Imperial who cannot have Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging only and have to dial (+44 (0)207 59)41000 to access voicemail instead.

How to use Cisco Unity Voicemail

Set up and access voicemail mailbox

Set up your voicemail mailbox

To set up your voicemail mailbox, follow these steps:

  1. Dial 41000.
  2. Enter 000000 followed by the hash key (#) when the system prompts you for a security code.
  3. Follow the set up tutorial to record your mailbox name, outgoing personal greeting and set up your PIN until the system says "You have now finished enrolment". You have set up your voicemail mailbox.
Note

The security code of six zeros will only work the first time you use your new voicemail box. After that you will need to use the PIN you set during the steps above to access your mailbox.

Message notifications

Now that you have set up your voice mailbox, whenever someone leaves you a voicemail you will be notified. The notification will be a red light on your telephone.

Access your voicemail mailbox

There are four ways to access voicemail. To access your mailbox, follow these steps:

Using your own College telephone
  1. Dial 41000.
Using another College telephone with a voicemail mailbox
  1. Dial 41000.
  2. Enter your PIN followed by the hash key (#) when prompted by the system.
  3. Press the star key (*).
  4. Enter your ID or mailbox number (your extension number) followed by the hash key (#).
Using another College telephone without a voicemail mailbox
  1. Dial 41000.
  2. Enter your ID or mailbox number (your extension number) followed by the hash key (#).
Using an external telephone
  1. Dial +44(0)207 594 1000.
  2. Enter your ID or mailbox number (your extension number) followed by the hash key (#).

Reset your PIN

To request the reset of your Voicemail PIN (if you dial 41000 to access your voicemails and do not use Exchange Unified Messaging), please contact your Telecom Representative who will be able to place an order on your behalf.
