QuickMarks are short comments that you can add to the student’s paper which communicate your thoughts about the submission. Students will be able to see these comments when they view the GradeMark interface (via Blackboard) so this is a good way to communicate your thoughts to the students. Comments can range from indicating poor punctuation to commenting on content. Some QuickMarks are pre-made but others can be created by you.

To view a list of all of the QuickMarks that you have added go to the View All QuickMarks and Comments button. This will not show your General or Voice Comments.

To activate the QuickMarks click on the QM button on the bottom right hand corner.

Pre-made QuickMarks

When you select QuickMarks you will see a variety of QuickMarks on offer.

To add a QuickMark simply click and drag it to the paper interface. You can move the QuickMark around by clicking and dragging it.

If the QuickMark is a pre-made QuickMark that comes with GradeMark, you will not be able to edit it, but you can view it or delete it. Just hover over the QuickMark in question and you will have the option to read the description or click on the rubbish bin (located on the QuickMark top right hand corner) to delete it. The students will view this in a similar way, they will just hover over the QuickMark and the description will pop up.

If you click on the Comment button you can add further comments about this QuickMark yourself. Just make sure to hit Save when you are finished.

To switch to a different set of pre-made QuickMarks choose from the pull down menu.
