Medicine workshops

Your librarian is happy to offer workshops to groups or departments who require them. Please contact the librarian at your most convenient campus to arrange these. The most popular sessions we run are for the following software and databases:

EndNote
Advanced bibliographic software package that enables you to manage your references, insert citations into your documents and create bibliographies. This resource is particularly suited to postgraduate researchers and staff.

Medline (Ovid)
Leading biomedical database which covers the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine and the preclinical sciences. Learn how to create MEDLINE search strategies on the Ovid platform.

PubMed
The most comprehensive database for biomedical articles. This workshop will teach you techniques and tips for getting the best results out of PubMed.

RefWorks
Web-based reference management software useful for undergraduates and taught-course postgraduates. Learn techniques and tips on how to import references from medical databases, build up your own database of relevant references, add citations to word documents and create bibliographies.

However, please contact us if there is another library resource that we can help you use. You can also book a non-medicine specific workshop at Central Library.

Alternatively, we can offer one-to-one support- please contact your librarian to arrange this.
