Access to process maps within Nimbus is generally rolled out at the point when process information is ready for sharing with College staff.  In these cases, the process owner or author usually requests access on behalf of those staff members with whom they’d like to share the diagrams and attached work instructions.

College staff may also request ad-hoc access to Nimbus at any time via the online Access Request Form within ASK. Request access to Nimbus.

How to view mapped processes within Nimbus

Once your user account has access to Nimbus, you can log in as follows:

  • Go to Nimbus Cloud
  • Enter your College username and password.

Some users are directed to a specialist landing page that brings together processes that are relevant to their job role. Others are directed to a general Nimbus home page, from which it is possible to browse the College’s shared mapping repository.

From the home page, click ‘Explore College Processes’ to browse the draft process maps that make up the College’s shared mapping repository.  Alternatively, you can navigate to specific process folders using the Processes option on the left-hand pane.

Nimbus diagrams use a simple mapping notation that is designed to be viewed by end users. A typical diagram contains a sequence of activity boxes and flow lines and may also contain attached help text, work instruction, child diagrams and/or links to other diagrams.

Accessibility Statement: request a text-only version of a process map

Nimbus presents College processes in the form of graphical, interactive diagrams.  If this does not meet your accessibility needs, process diagrams can also be exported as text, as follows.

  1. Select the More option in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
  2. Select Export to Microsoft Word
  3. Ensure that all of the details that you wish to export are ticked and hit Export.

If you prefer, you can request a text-only version of one or more process maps to be emailed to you, by contacting the BPA (s.flockhart@imperial.ac.uk) at any time.
