Programme participants will be grouped according to the professional registration status they are applying for.
These groups will work with the applicant support mentor to explore the Science Council’s standards for professional scientists, covering the five areas of knowledge and understanding, personal responsibility, interpersonal skills, professional practice and professionalism.
They will ‘unravel’ the Science Council’s competency framework and be supported to reflect on how they already demonstrate the competencies in a professional setting. There will be an overview of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements of professional registration.

Objectives

By the end of the session, participants will understand the Science Council’s standards for professional registration, its competency framework and any ongoing CPD requirements.
