What would you like to do?

Nominate a fellow alumnus

You can nominate any of your fellow alumni whose success you feel deserves to be recognised. You don’t need to know their full contact details, just their given/first name and family/last name, their email address, and which of the participating countries they are currently living in. Your nominee will be informed by email that they have been nominated, with a link and password to complete their application form if they wish.

Apply yourself

As long as you meet the eligibility criteria (see sidebar), you can apply online. If you are applying yourself, you will need to answer three short questions on the application form to explain how your UK higher education has contributed to your success and why you think you should be considered for an Alumni Award 2017. Please see the judging criteria for further guidance on what the judges are looking for.

How to apply or nominate

Apply for an award or nominate a fellow alumnus via the British Council's website from 7 September 2016.

Gather supporting documents

Essential: If you have applied yourself or been nominated, you must upload a current CV or resume into your application form.

Optional: You may also wish to upload additional material to support your application (for example links to project websites, news articles, video/audio content). You can also make a one minute (maximum) video about the impact of your UK study experience on your achievements: i.e. your experience of studying in the UK and where it has taken you (the impact that you have made, using what you learned in the UK). Please see the FAQs for further guidance.
