AMMP is the largest section in the department comprising permanent staff, postdoctoral researchers (including several on Fellowships (NERC), Junior Research and Chapman Fellowships) and a large number of postgraduate PhD and MSc students.

Research interests of AMMP members include: Applied and Computational Complex Analysis, Applied and Numerical Analysis, Biomathematics, Complexity and Networks, Dynamical Systems, Fluid Mechanics, Mathematical Physics.
