Anisha has expertise in handling several molecular techniques and bioinformatic tools to study evolutionary dynamics. 

In the AMRWATCH project, she contributed to metagenomic DNA isolation, characterization of antimicrobial resistance, sequence analysis and phylogenetic tree construction.

Anna is an environmental scientist specialising in environmental management, water quality, freshwater ecology, and climate risk.

She contributed to the project via work packages one and four- specifically by investigating SPR linkages, risk analysis, and dataset interpretation. 

Ms Anushara Prabhakaran

Anushara is experienced in the field of molecular biology, genomics and pan genomics.

As part of the AMRWATCH project, she dealt with the isolation, screening and characterization of AMR isolates from water and sediment samples of Puducherry and Chennai. Genomic and metagenomic analysis of the samples were her main focus

Kumaresan is a microbiologist and science communicator for the YouTube Channel “Think Biology Think Vision” which has over 1.4 million views.

He contributed to AMRWATCH through the collection, isolation and screening of samples by microbiological techniques, characterization of antimicrobial resistant organisms and metagenomics of samples.

Dr Oliver Charity

In memory of Dr Oliver Charity

Oliver was a microbiologist who studied pathogen evolution and natural mechanisms of pathogen persistence and development.  He used large sequence datasets to gain hypothetical insights into pathogen evolution and tested these hypotheses with molecular biology and wet lab techniques.

 He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

 

Ms Seethalakshmi P S

Seetha is a microbiologist whose research interests lie in the understanding of antimicrobial resistance in the animal and human gut microbiome.

As a part of the AMRWATCH project, she assayed antimicrobial resistance in the bacterial community of animals and humans through culture-based, genomic and metagenomic approaches.

Dr Thinesh Thangadurai

His role in this project was to design and select sites for sampling, by incorporating inputs from various stakeholders. He participated in awareness programs to teach the science behind antimicrobial resistance to the general public, school students, and policy managers
