Ms Seethalakshmi P S
Seethalakshmi is a microbiologist whose research interests lie in the understanding of antimicrobial resistance in animals and the human gut microbiome.
As a part of the AMRWATCH project, she will be assaying antimicrobial resistance in the bacterial community of animals and humans through culture-based, genomic, and metagenomic approaches.
Ms Anushara Prahakaran
Anushara is experienced in the field of molecular biology, genomics and pan genomics.
As part of the AMRWATCH project, she is dealing with the isolation, screening and characterization of AMR isolates from water and sediment samples of Puducherry and Chennai. Genomic and metagenomic analysis of the samples will be her main focus.
Mr Vishnu Prasad Nair
Vishnu Nair is a Geneticist at the Microbiology Department of Pondicherry University.
His work in the AMRWATCH project involves understanding the molecular and biochemical basis of antimicrobial resistance in bacteria isolated from sewage and sediment samples. He also looks at the microbiome in the human and animal gut by performing molecular studies of the resistant genes that are found in the resistant bacteria.
