Imperial College London Global Summer School

It is with regret that, as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Imperial Global Summer School has been cancelled.

If you are interested in attending the programme in summer 2021, you can register your interest. We will contact you once applications open.

This residential two–week programme is for 16–17 year olds with a passion for science, technology, engineering or mathematics. It's designed for students all around the world.

The cost of one residential place on the Imperial College Global Summer School is £4,695 per student.

For secondary school students from the UK only

Year 9 Girls Engineering Summer School (non-residential)

Year 9 girls are invited to join us to explore the breadth of engineering disciplines available at Imperial. Working in groups and supported by undergraduate mentors, you will tackle a range of engineering challenges, using your knowledge of maths, physics, chemistry and biology. This course is fully funded by Imperial’s Faculty of Engineering (travel not included) so eligibility criteria apply.

Year 10 Insights into Science and Engineering Summer School (residential)

Get ready for an action packed four days that lets you explore subjects you already know, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths, in new, exciting ways. Take part in hands–on practicals and workshops in real Undergraduate labs with some of Imperial’s finest academics and students as try your hand at a number of different disciplines. This programme is fully–funded so eligibility criteria apply.

Year 11 STEM Challenge (residential)

Experience working in small teams to solve current world problems and then presenting ideas to a panel of judges. You’ll also get to experience university life through a series of social activities. This programme is fully–funded so eligibility criteria apply.

Year 11 Medical Summer School (residential)

Get a taster of medicine at university and find out what it takes to become a doctor. You will have the chance to learn about different specialisms as well as gain support for applying to medical school through talks, workshops and practical activities. This programme is fully funded, so eligibility criteria apply.

Year 12 Sutton Trust Summer School (residential)

Experience studying one of nine subject strands in an engaging and high achieving academic environment whilst experiencing a taste of university life during the day and evening. All subject content is aimed at Level 1 undergraduate standard and teaching is provided in the same style as it is to university undergraduates. This programme is fully–funded so eligibility criteria apply.

Year 12 Work Experience Programme (non-residential)

One week placements are available across six of our departments: Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Life Sciences; Materials Science and Engineering; Mathematics; National Heart and Lung Institute and Physics. This will give you the chance to experience the exciting world of research that contributes to our reputation as one of the top 10 best universities in the world.
