Online Careers Fair FAQs
Why should we attend?
You’ll get access to over 16,000 Imperial College students to promote your organisation and advertise your insight days, internships, placements and graduate opportunities. Our online Careers Fairs are open for 7 days and they’re heavily promoted giving you great exposure to highly talented students at a top global university.
When are the Careers Fairs?
Our online Careers Fairs run throughout the year. Each fair runs for seven days and is accessible to all Imperial College students. See the individual careers fair pages for more details.
Are the Careers Fairs aimed at specific student groups?
No. Imperial students and alumni from every discipline can attend any of our Careers Fairs although each fair has a different industry focus.
What can we do at the Careers Fairs?
Our Career Fairs are simple yet effective. We’re using a series of exclusive access webpages and meeting links for you to connect with our students. There are many fancy platforms on the market but sometimes you just need a basic approach. Our system allows you to participate by hosting a “Corporate Page” which includes details about your organisation, FAQs, videos and social media. Additionally, you can set-up your own slots to directly interact with our students via your own, preferred platform.
What’s a “Corporate Page”?
We do the hard work for you! A “corporate page” includes an overview of your organisation, answers to FAQs and you can include video content you want to display and connections to relevant social media platforms. You can link directly to your vacancies or other recruitment events using JobsLive too making it a one-stop-shop to promote you and your opportunities. All content is submitted to us using a simple booking form and we construct your page for you so there’s no messing around with complex platforms. Your corporate page will be hosted as a link from the Careers Fair main page allowing students easy access.
What are ''Live Chats''?
You can opt to host up to 2 x 3 hour live chat slots as part of our fairs. By simply providing us with a meeting link (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.) we can then advertise this directly to our students and you can then directly interact with our students at these live chat sessions. As you control the live chats, this gives you control of how these are run and will mean that this will suit your specific needs.
Do I need to download software to attend the Careers Fair?
No. We set up your Corporate Page for you on our website and list your live chat sessions as part of the fair programme.
How do we book?
Choose which Careers Fair(s) you want to participate in and complete the relevant online booking form to register your organisation. This will mean that we will building your Corporate Page. We will also contact you directly to organise the time slots when you want to run the live chat sessions as part of the event.
What sponsorship opportunities are there?
Increase your brand awareness with a sponsorship package. Our packages can be tailored to meet your needs and give you the highest possible visibility to our students through premium placing on our event page and within all direct marketing materials.
Can students from other universities visit the Careers Fair?
No. This is an exclusive event targeted at Imperial College students and alumni. Access to the event is restricted to those with an Imperial College logon.
How do we view our Corporate page?
You’ll be given a guest logon and password which you can use to visit your Corporate Page. Our Employer Engagement Team will provide you with this by email before the Careers Fair opens.
Do we need to resource the event when it is open to students?
The Corporate Pages contain static information and you don’t need to provide staff resource for this element. The only part where you need to provide staff will be for any live chat sessions that you arrange as part of the fair. These are limited to 2 x 3 hour slots (maximum). Our event provides maximum return for minimum input.
What information is on our “Corporate Page”?
We use the information provided on your booking form. Typically this is an overview of your organisation, social media links, video content, and responses to the set FAQs including details on the types of roles you are recruiting for, locations, visa sponsorship, deadlines etc.
