The data

Each undergraduate was surveyed and asked to return what they were doing on the specific census date of 12 January 2016.

Where does the data come from?

Annually, the Careers Service collects the official destination data from recent graduates. Every Higher Education institution in the UK is required to collect data using a set format and return this to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). Data is collected in two collections -  for students having completed an undergraduate course, and for those having completed a postgraduate course. The information in this section records the destination returns for the undergraduates, who completed their courses between 1 January - 31 July 2015.
