Procedures 2016-2017


28 October - Applicants for academic promotion email draft copy of Departmental Form (details of application and referees) & Application Form to HoD Office for circulation to the Departmental Review Panel.

4 November - Departmental Review Panel convenes to review draft applications and details of referees. Composition of panel consists of available Professors, Heads of Teaching Sections and Director of UG Studies and Director of PG Studies as appropriate.

7-10 November - Applicants are advised if their application will be departmentally supported, if not, they are offered a meeting with the HoD to discuss and consider way forward.

25 November - Applicants to email final copy of Departmental Form  and near final draft of Application Form to HoD Office.

1 December - Applicants submit final draft of Application Form to HR and HoD office submits Departmental Forms plus HoD & DUGS citations to HR.


19 January - Applicants submit second set of paperwork (SOLE and four selected publications and justification summary) to HR.

February - May - HR invite applicants to interview where appropriate.

June - July - HR inform applicants of decisions.

College Briefing Sessions

The College arranges briefing sessions for academic staff applying for promotion, this year's briefing session on the South Kensington Campus will be confirmed shortly.
