The Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2000


Stuart Lipton, chief executive of Stanhope plc, and member of the College Council, was awarded a knighthood for services to the property industry and the environment. Richard Macrory, visiting professor of environmental law in the T H Huxley School and member of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution, was appointed CBE for services to environment protection and law.

Emeritus Professor John H Argyris FRS, Fellow of the College, was appointed CBE to services to mathematics and engineering; and Baroness Brigstocke, former Governor, was also appointed CBE for services to the English Speaking Union.
