Party time for volunteers

RECTOR, Sir Richard Sykes, welcomed guests to the Volunteer Centre's VIP party in honour of staff and students who had taken part in a variety of volunteering projects and made valuable contributions to the local community throughout the year.

Voluteer's party

"Volunteering can enhance an individual's personal and professional skills and this benefits not just the individual, but also the community involved in this process," he said.

"Volunteering is a win-win situation for all parties involved."

Organised earlier this month by Imperial Volunteer Centre and the Pimlico Connection for the second year running, the party attracted more than 100 people, including those from external organisations who recruit Imperial volunteers, and staff from the College and ICU who work directly with the Volunteer Centre and the Pimlico Connection.
