A trip with the rector

CHILDREN from the Alexandra School joined rector, Sir Richard Sykes, for a trip in Boanerges when they were taken for a tour last month during Science and Technology Week.

Nick White, special school teacher, said: "Our day at Imperial provided the children with plenty of memorable experiences which can be talked about and referred to for a long time to come.

"Direct experience can bring to life what many of our pupils would otherwise find distant and abstract, and can often be worth several weeks of classroom work. For example, the ride in the vintage car, Bo' can show how things change over time through development. All this would have not been possible without the help of a group of Imperial Volunteers, who coordinated the trip."
