The MRes in Advanced Computing is a taught postgraduate course aimed at excellent students who have a substantial background in computing.

Applicants who want to study advanced computing concepts and technologies in more depth are the natural target for this course. The expectation of graduates is that this course enables them to have rewarding careers in Computing or in a profession that has Computing or IT as a core component.

A unique feature of this course is theMRes Research Project, in which students research a theoretical or practical problem over two terms under the close and bespoke supervision of one or two academics.

This course is also a very suitable preparation for PhD studies.

We normally expect applicants for this course to possess the equivalent of a first-class UK degree.

Course 496 Mathematics for Inference and Machine Learning must be taken if you are taking any of the following courses: 424H Learning in Autonomous Systems, 433 Advanced Robotics, 493 Data Analysis and Probabilistic Inference, 495 Advanced Statistical Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition.
