Course details

This four week summer school is designed for students studying a computer science or computer engineering degree in year 2 or 3 of their undergraduate studies.

Students will work together to:

  • Learn about Sensor Networks and Software Engineering.
  • Get an insight into Machine Learning and Robotics.
  • Practice and improve their English language.
  • Develop valuable professional skills in team building, leadership and presentation.
  • Conduct a project towards a group competition.

In addition, students will have an opportunity to visit a UK company, make new friends, get to know students from Imperial College London discuss opportunities for future study with students and staff, experience what it is like to study in the UK and get an insight into the British culture through evening social and fun activities.

Programme structures

72 contact hours (36 hours per module) spread over 4 weeks covering lectures and tutorials.

Students will be allocated in groups and a project will be assigned to each group at the start of the programme working towards a project presentation on the last day of the programme.

There will be selected evening activities for the students lead by Imperial ambassadors.

The entire programme will be taught in English.

Entry requirements

All students are expected to be studying a computer science or computer engineering degree in year 2 or 3 of their undergraduate studies at a University in Jiangsu province.

All students are required to have a good command of English and will only be put forward by their university if they are at an equivalent level to

IELTS (Academic Test): A minimum score of 6.5 with a score of 6.0 or better in the written section and 6.0 or better in the speaking section.
