Robotics and Manufacturing
The Robotics and Manufacturing (RaM) theme aims to develop new understanding, concepts and solutions for robotic systems, manufacturing technologies and the fusion of the two.
To develop more intelligent robots our research covers fundamentals in sensing, actuation, control and design. To improve and innovate on the ways we manufacture items, we investigate novel, fundamental and applied additive manufacturing techniques in conjuncture with traditional manufacturing. The fusion of robotics and manufacturing is therefore an overarching theme utilising the potential of automation.
Research areas broadly include:
- Innovations in the design, control and intelligence of robotic systems
- Fundamental and applied research in additive manufacturing
- The fusion of robotic and manufacturing technologies
- Design of energy generation, storage and usage systems
