As part of our ongoing desire to understand the geological systems which we simulate, the fractures group here at Imperial College embarked on a one week excursion to the island of Sardinia to see first hand the diverse nature of the outcrops available.  Situated in the heart of the mediterranean, Sardinia is said to have one of the most dense variations of geology in the world and thus well suited for an introductory study.
