The Renewable Traction project is  an Innovate UK-funded project looking at the feasibility of using track-side solar panels to provide electricity to power trains.

It is a collaboration between four organisations, 10:10, Turbo Power Systems, Community Energy South and Energy Futures Lab.

Starting on 1 February 2017 and is funded through Innovate UK’s Energy Game Changers programme. It will release the results of their feasibility study in late 2017.
