Independent ERP Industry-side Co-chair
Keith first joined SSE in 1994, after graduate and postgraduate studies in Chemistry at Heriot-Watt and Hamburg Universities, and a career in both Germany and Scotland working in Research & Development and Business Management.
He has worked in a number of areas in the energy business and was responsible for starting-up and running SSE’s telecoms business from 1997 to 2004. From 2004 he was responsible for policy and in 2011 took on the lead for SSE’s research and development activities.
Keith has acted as an advisor on renewable energy policy to both the UK and Scottish Governments and is an Honorary Fellow of Energy Policy at the University of Exeter. He chaired the UK Business Council for Sustainable Energy for 6 years and is on the Board of its successor, Energy UK, and was recently elected to the Supervisory Board of the European Wind Energy Association.
