Students on dalby court

Why transform?

Creating transformed module content that moves away from the traditional lecture-based classroom can create world-class educational environments in line with Imperial's teaching and learning strategy. Using technological enhancement as well as carefully designed learning journeys can also produce more supportive as well as more challenging environments for students.

Delivering more interactivity can equip students with the tools they need to engage with knowledge in new ways; moving them from knowledge acquisition to knowledge creation, using collaborative and active learning techniques. Taking a fresh look at how to approach traditional teaching time can enable full utilisation of face to face classroom time, bringing in class discussion and uptake of threshold theories to new levels. In turn, this can inspire students to become the leaders and designers of tomorrow. At the same time, academics can acquire the tools needed to innovate through adopting new pedagogic approaches to teaching and learning.
