Changes to staff parking for 2021-22

In line with the College’s 'transition and learn' phase of returning to campus, we will be introducing a hybrid car parking system for the 2021-22 academic year. You can learn more about this system in the staff section below.

Changes for 2021-22

In line with the College’s 'transition and learn' phase of returning to campus, we will be introducing a hybrid car parking system for the 2021-22 academic year. In summary:

  • 50% (approx. 95) of car parking spaces at South Kensington will be reserved for annual permit holders. As with previous years, priority will be given to disabled staff and students, those with caring responsibilities, or those for which having a car parking space is essential to their roles.
  • The remaining 50% of car parking spaces will be maintained as daily parking.

Annual permit holders

Staff permits allow you to park between 07.00-18.00 from Monday to Friday.

Find out if you're eligible and apply for an annual permit here.

Daily parking

Daily parking during office hours will continue to operate as it has since June 2020 - each faculty is allocated a number of parking spaces and individuals should request a space directly from their Head of Department’s (or equivalent’s) nominated delegate one week in advance. Each Thursday, a list of approved staff members is provided to the Car Parking team from each Head of Department.

You can also park free of charge at the South Kensington car park outside office hours. Any car remaining after midnight will incur a parking charge of £30 - to leave a car parked after midnight prior permission must be provided from Anne-Marie ClarkeYou'll need to present your staff ID at the Exhibition Road gatehouse. You must be the driver. If a valid ID is not presented by its owner the standard public parking charges apply.

When are office hours?

Outside office hours:

  • Monday to Friday – 00.00 to 18.00

Parking is not permitted during the Great Exhibition Road Festival and Summer Ball weekends. Bookings must be made through your Departmental Parking Representative
