Abstract:
Remote sensing of greenhouse gases from satellites and ground-based platforms has become a tool to examine the processes of the carbon cycle on the global and local scale. I will review the radiative transfer and spectroscopic methods that enable remote sensing measurements with high precision and accuracy. I will showcase some of our recent results collected during field-campaigns at greenhouse gas emission hotspot such as the Upper Silesian Coal Basin, and at Mt. Etna volcano. Further, I will touch on recent findings and new concepts in satellite applications.
