Group event in Beirut

Together with Imperial College Lebanese Society, we are inviting all Lebanese alumni and students, or those with an interest in Lebanon, to an open meeting this March.

Please note this event is taking place at 12.00 (GMT) / 14.00 (EET).

Did you know that there are over 260 Imperial alumni based in Lebanon, and a further 300 alumni from Lebanon living around the world?

This online event brings together Imperial alumni based in, or from Lebanon, to plan a future of engaging the network, and supporting recent alumni and current Lebanese students.

This kick off meeting aims to bring together interested parties with the aim of reinvigorating the alumni group and planning future activities.

These could include:

  • Networking opportunities
  • Supporting Lebanese students
  • Highlighting the successes of alumni in and from Lebanon
  • Sharing news and updates from Imperial

Joining alumni will be Director of Alumni Relations, Nicola Pogson, and Clare Turner, Senior International Relations Officer. Nicola and Clare will give an overview of College news and Imperial’s engagement with Lebanon and the Middle East, before we open up the event for networking and a structured discussion around the future of the group in Lebanon.

Current leader of the alumni group, Ramy El-Khoury (pictured above left), says,

“It’s been an honour and a privilege to lead the Lebanon Imperial College Alumni Group since my graduation in 1993…

Networking has been of prime importance and I believe that we need to consolidate the group by interacting with new members.

Such a group is needed especially during the tough times that our beloved country is facing. This event will no doubt help Lebanese alumni come closer together to ensure the perennity of the group.”
