Do you believe:

• it takes all of us to create a workplace culture that is inclusive of everyone?

• talented disabled people should be able to thrive and progress in our workplace?

• disabled colleagues should feel able to be themselves and feel valued at Imperial?

Come along to this webinar to find out practical steps you can take to be a better ally to our Imperial disabled community and how you might use your position and privilege to support your colleagues and the College’s disability agenda.

According to PurpleSpace, the term ‘Purple ally’ is used to describe colleagues who believe that disabled people should experience full equity in the workplace. Allies are diverse and include disabled and non-disabled supporters. They are crucial in helping to build and drive cultural change in an organisation.

The term comes from the global #PurpleLightUp movement that celebrates and draws attention to the economic contribution of the 386 million disabled employees around the world.

For Disability History Month this year at Imperial, our staff network Able@Imperial will be lighting up the Queen’s Tower in purple to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities and support the #PurpleLightUp movement. The event is on Friday 3 December at 16.00. Find out more information about the event.
