Art Drop-In / Bite-Sized Art Workshop

With Mindy Lee and Sarah Gillham

Bite sized Art Workshop

A more casual version of the Clay workshops will be rerun in tandem with the Art Drop-In.

(Free. No booking required)

Great opportunities to extend the time you have making your art immediately after the workshop, with two professional artists. Also feel free to ask the artists’ questions about their own practice or to simply dip into something new at your own speed.

The tutors are from a wide range of fine art disciplines; they are professional artists exhibiting nationally and internationally.

Art Drop-In:

With resident artist Mindy Lee

These open themed sessions are responsive to you, providing an invaluable opportunity for you to create whatever you like with art materials and support provided.

(They are free and open to all levels and abilities, with no need to book.)

You choose a material to work with:

We currently provide, pencil, graphite sticks, pens, pencil crayons, chalk, charcoal, pastels, inks, watercolour, acrylic paints, monoprinting paint and rollers, air-drying clay and collage papers.

You choose what to work from:

  • set up a still life
  • bring a photograph to work from, or
  • work from your imagination
  • or a combination of all these things

You could practice and extend skills you have learnt in the Art Workshops

Mindy will provide bespoke support on request such as:

  • Demonstrating how to use materials
  • Different approaches to making a piece of art
  • Tips on developing (most) workshop skills
  • Feedback and constructive help with your art
  • Inspiration and other artists to look at

The more often you visit, the more Mindy can learn about your artworks and help you develop your practice. You are of course more than welcome to make without and feedback and support, it is up to you.

These relaxed sessions take place in the Blyth Art Studio, providing an inspirational, friendly and stimulating environment in which to make art.
