In this seminar two PhD students (Dan Hdidouan and Shuyang Chen) will present their individual work and engage in a dicussion about approaches to informing Climate and Renewable Energy Policy Crossovers.

Dan is a 3rd year student working with Iain Staffel, Rob Gross (CEP) and David Brayshaw (Reading). His research focuses on how climate change impacts the renewable energy system.

Shuyang Chen finished his master degree of social policy at Washington University in St. Louis in the US. He is currently working with Yiannis Kountouris as a PhD student in CEP. His research mainly focuses on the socioeconomic effects of climate policies using Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model.

Incorporating climate change data into energy models is often difficult. Dan has developed a method to apply climate change projections to reanalysis data to inform stakeholders of the potential impacts of climate change on the renewable energy system. A worked case study will be presented.

Shuyang Chen will present on the socioeconomic impacts of wind-turbine-related policies using Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model.
