Welcome to the website of the Flow Control Research Group at Imperial College. Research principally involves the development of novel methods for controlling fluid flow in a wide variety of applications.

This work presently focuses on:

  • Development of controllable actuators using both open and closed-loop control schemes with wall pressure or base pressure and wall shear-stress sensing,
  • Development of sensors for wall pressure and wall pressure gradient at the MEMS scale,
  • Modelling of flow (DNS and analytical methods) and materials (Finite Elements and Finite Differences),
  • Fundamental studies of laminar, transitional and turbulent flows using both experiments and simulations.
