Global health in a snapshot - IGHI photography competition

For the Institute of Global Health Innovation’s first-ever photography competition, we offered Imperial staff and students the chance to show off their photography skills by capturing some of today’s key themes in global healthcare. See the entries and winners here

We asked individuals to send us their best photos that encapsulate any of the following three themes:

  1. Care in the community
  2. Health and the environment
  3. The future of health

Our impartial panel shortlisted 10 photos using the following criteria:

  • Creativity
  • Originality
  • Capturing the theme
  • Technical aspects

The full IGHI Photography competition Terms and Conditions‌ are available here.

We asked followers to ‘like’ their favourite image on Instagram to help determine the winner.

The shortlisted images were exhibited in the Imperial College London main entrance on 4 December, where Imperial staff and students had a chance to vote for the best image in person.

We used the combined votes from Instagram and the exhibition to determine the winners of our prizes below:

1st prize - £150
Runner up - £50
