Search our glycan library

The microarray system contains oligosaccharide probes, natural and synthetic, encompassing sequences found on glycoproteins, glycolipids, and glycosaminoglycans, also those derived from glucan polysaccharides of fungi, bacteria and plants. Currently, these number approximately 830 sequence-defined probes and are increasing. A list of oligosaccharide probes is available via our online display and searching system.

Software tools

We have developed software tools in support of our glycan microarray resource. These include a dedicated storage and processing system for our screening program (designed by Mark Stoll), and a more advanced system applicable to storage and processing data from multiple microarray formats, including dose-response experiments. Plans are underway to upgrade this system from its present form (in MS office) to a professional system.


Emerging data formats

MIRAGE
The MIRAGE (minimum information required for a glycomics experiment) initiative was founded in Seattle, WA, in November 2011 in order to develop guidelines for reporting the qualitative and quantitative results obtained by diverse types of glycomics analyses, including the conditions and techniques that were applied to prepare the glycans for analysis and generate the primary data along with the tools and parameters that were used to process and annotate this data.

Ten Feizi is on the Advisory Board and Yan Liu is a member of the committee of the MIRAGE project.

Data Exchange
We are implementing machine-readable methods (two XML standards) for storing glycan structural information and for sharing and exchanging glycan microarray data. For data exchange, we are collaborating with the Glycomics Center at Emory University, where the CFG glycan microarray analyses are being performed.

Our vision for the future is to contribute to the development of an international repository for glycan array data with functionalities for comparisons of data from different microarray platforms.
