Engagement and recognition
The Employee Engagement team within HR are committed to supporting all staff achieve a good work life balance in order to continue excelling at work whilst being able to balance their home life through support schemes and recognition events.
The team aim to provide relevant guidance and support to staff (with a particular focus on carers and family friendly initiatives) in addition to facilitating networks with fellow colleagues in similar situations.
There are many support and recognition intiatives that the team currently have in place for staff:
The Staff Survey takes place every two years to obtain feedback on key aspects of your experience at the College such as your role, your development, communications, your line manager and your perceptions. In addition to the surveys, the HR Engagement team also run annual roadshows at each of the campuses and seek updates from each Faculty's action plans.
Support Services Social Committee
The Support Services Social Committee provides networking opportunities for staff working in support services roles by arranging activities as well as events such as the annual Summer Party. It aims to bring together staff with shared interests through events and activities across the College and the local area such as new starters networking events, theatre trips and pub quizzes.

Babies and bumps network
New parents and parents-to-be are invited to meet other Imperial colleagues in a similar situation for a monthly, informal networking and mutual support over tea/coffee. A HR representative will be there to answer any family leave related queries and advise about the current family support initiatives.
Guidance and support for all staff who identify as carers or have an interest in balancing work with caring responsibilities. We hope this network will help staff with finding an ideal balance between work and home life in addition to access to useful resources and facilitating conversations with other colleagues.
Imperial have a number of different staff award schemes in place in order to recognise and celebrate the achievements and hard work of staff at the College which take place annually at the President’s Awards. The Imperial Garden Party and Long Servers events run annually to celebrate staff achievements.
