Future city vision

A multidisciplinary centre of excellence, providing a focus to cross-College work on robotics and AI technologies to create lasting impact on urban infrastructure, underground environments and offshore energy assets.

The Imperial Centre of Excellence on Infrastructure Robotics Ecosystems (CEIRE) is hosted by the Aerial Robotics Lab within the Department of Aeronautics, with cross-College involvement from Faculties of Engineering (Aeronautics, Earth Science and Engineering, Computing and the Dyson School of Design Engineering), Natural Sciences (Grantham Institute - Climate Change and Environment) and the Business School.

CEIRE combines expertise at the interface of robotics, sensor networks, AI, data science, technology business and environmental policy to advance and promote the next-generation of robots to be integrated in the asset management value chain in order to reduce operational costs, environmental impact, and improve safety of workers.
