Technician Apprenticeship Scheme
Our apprenticeship is a four year programme designed to train the future technicians who go on to work in our world-class workshops and laboratories, contributing to the research and teaching that we do.
Our technician apprentices specialise in either Mechanical or Electronics and Mechatronics Engineering and combine their studies with on-the-job training across a range of our busy workshops. As well as earning a competitive salary, you will build a wide range of technical skills and gain formal qualifications that will help you in your future career.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with an interest in engineering. You will need (or expect to gain) grade 9 – 6 (A*-B) at GCSE in Maths, English and Science (or Design and Technology for the Mechanical Engineering pathway). No prior work experience is required.
What do technicians get involved in at Imperial College London?
Hear from some of our current technicians:
Our main activity is research. We have a wide variety of subjects and types of research happening all over the College - all of which rely on quality technicans for their success.
To find out more about what we do, why not read more about our research or find out a little bit more about our departments:
