What did you do before joining the training scheme?
I graduated from my first degree in 2012 and then went on to get my PhD in Inorganic Chemistry. Subsequently I worked for a start-up and travelled before starting the scheme in September 2016.
What attracted you to the scheme?
I wanted to pursue a career with a more direct social and public impact whilst being able to make use of my experience in higher education. The university landscape seemed like an excellent introduction and the opportunity to rapidly experience different roles within the College is a unique experience.
What would be your one tip for applicants?
Know your strengths and weaknesses, be able to articulate them with examples and show willingness to improve.
