The Catering and Events Department of the Campus Services Division at Imperial College London runs events across a wide range of venues located within the South Kensington Campus and other off-site Campuses. The department aims to provide affordable and high quality food and services for the Imperial College community.

We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated people. You will join our friendly kitchen brigade to produce inspiring, fresh, traditional and internationally innovative cuisine as well as fine dining and event hospitality to our high standards. These posts will support the Executive Chef to deliver an effective and efficient service with real passion.

Duties and responsibilities

Main duties will include:

  • Assisting in planning and developing new menus
  • Assistance with ordering
  • Compliance with the health and hygiene legislation and policies
  • Supporting the Sous Chef, ensuring efficient working practices
  • Conducting all basic cooking procedures

Essential requirements

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes

  • A successful track record in a similar kitchen environment and be results driven
  • A self-starter with a pro-active approach
  • An excellent communicator
  • First class customer service skills

Contract Details:

Salary: £28,190-£31,000

Operational Services Grade 2b

Full Time, Permanent, Open Ended Position x 2 Posts

The standard working week consists of 35 hours, 5 days out of 7
