Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU) is a UKCRC registered clinical trials unit that brings together academic, clinical and trial management expertise from across the Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre (IC AHSC) to deliver world class clinical trials of all phases and designs. The Unit also collaborates with members of the designated Academic Health Science Network for North West London, Imperial College Health Partners, other national clinical and scientific key opinion leaders, other CTUs and with Industry.
The Unit leads primarily on the design, conduct and analysis of national and international multi-centre trials. Staff with specialist disease and methodological knowledge, have input at all stages of the trial lifecycle; thus ensuring all activities are conducted according to the principles of ICH GCP and in compliance with the appropriate regulatory and ethical requirements. The Unit also manages a small early phase portfolio with an emphasis on the design and analysis aspects of these studies, as well as portfolio of commercially funded/sponsored research. Current therapeutic areas of expertise include Cancer, Cardiovascular, Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, Infectious Diseases and Surgery.
Duties and responsibilities
ICTU has a vacancy for a Clinical Trials Development Team Leader (Maternity Cover) within the InForm team reporting to the Head of ICT, ICTU. The InForm team develops and supports electronic data capture (EDC) system for clinical trials and comprises three teams with expertise in different areas so collaborative working across the team is essential.
You will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Development Team with the aim of delivering high quality eCRFs for healthcare related trials through the lifecycle of design, development and unit testing. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the solutions delivered are both fit for purpose and compliant with regulatory requirements and delivered within strict timelines.
The Development Team Leader will be expected to project manage the development aspects of the eCRFs development to ensure timelines for completed trial design are met.
You will manage a team of eCRF Developers and designers, allocating work based on priorities, directing development activities such as authoring, designing and developing eCRF and Edit checks for InForm EDC systems. You will also be responsible for training and developing the Development team members.
You will need a degree in computer science or equivalent and/or equivalent relevant experience, as well as previous experience with InForm or other trial development systems.
This post is full-time and fixed-term for 6 months in the first instance, and is based at Stadium House, Wood Lane; close to Wood Lane and White City tube stations. The role is available from August 2020.
