NIHR CRN Good Clinical Practice Courses

The NIHR offers the following GCP courses - eLearning and face to face, both courses are bookable online. To book go to http://learn.nihr.ac.uk/.

To enrol on the eLearning course; select the required course (typically GCP for secondary care): click on the CRNCC email link in the box on the right to request an enrolment key. This  will be sent by email with further instructions.

Note: the e-learning course can also be used as a refresher by omitting the groundwork modules. For those new to GCP you will need to complete all modules in order to pass the challenges successfully and release your certificate.

You can also book a place on a  face to face taught course, scroll down to CRN North West London click and select GCP. If you do not have an NIHR account create a new account (no commitment to attend until a course has been booked).  An enrolment key will be sent by email with further instructions.

You will then be able to see course locations and dates for both the full 1 day Introduction to GCP course and the half day GCP Refresher course.

Imperial College (online) Good Clinical Practice Course

Research The Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004 requires that Clinical Trials are conducted in accordance with the ICH Guideline for Good Clinical Practice (GCP). To assist our researchers in meeting this requirement, the College provides an online Good Clinical Practice course, free of charge for Imperial College staff.

This course is designed for Imperial staff undertaking or who are planning to take part on clinical trials. The aim of the course is to provide an overview of Good Clinical Practice and the requirements for regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance.  This course is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians, is approved for distance learning credits for the CPD scheme and is worth 7 credits.

Please note, this online course is only available to Imperial College London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust staff.

The course is split into 5 modules, all of which you will be able to do at your own speed. These are:

1. Protocol and Associated Documents

2. Applications, Agreements and Approvals

3. The Trial Master File

4. Conducting the Trial

5. Safety Reporting

Once you have completed the modules with pass rate of at least 80% in each module, you will be issued with a certificate confirming completion of the GCP course.

To enrol on the online course please return a completed and signed copy of the relevant booking form.
