Who should apply?
Applicants wanting to undertake multidisciplinary research with an interest in developing and applying novels systems fusing the living with the non-living.
How is the Studentship structured?
Each studentship is for 3 years, covering the fees and bursary (stipend) for a 3 year PhD programme.
Fully funded PhD studentships (stipend and fees) are restricted to UK and EU students* with a good Masters degree in a science discipline (2.1 or above, or equivalent)
* UK students are defined as having settled status in the UK (no restrictions on how long they can stay), and having been ordinarily resident in the UK for 3 years prior to the start of the studentship, as well as, for non-EU nationals, not been residing in the UK wholly or mainly for the purpose of full-time education.
* Exception: Non-UK and non-EU students are eligible to apply but fees will only be paid at the UK/EU rate.
