Students wishing to improve their mathematical problem solving skills in preparation for a university course are able to sign up for a Problem Solving Matters course organised by the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme.

The course is meant for Year 12 students, to help prepare them for the way they will have to think to achieve success in the MAT and other problem-solving mathematics examinations by developing their mathematical thinking and problem solving skills. The course consists of three face to face study days, summer assignments and online follow-up. This course takes place at a number of venues around the UK, including Imperial College London.
