What did you most enjoy about your course?

Jeongtek (Jack) KimMSc Applied Genomics not only covers genomics but also other types of ‘omics’ (i.e. genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics). Understanding various types of techniques allowed me to make connections between different fields of studies and get new ideas.

What did you most appreciate about the Faculty/College?

During my studies, the COVID-19 pandemic emerged and I am very thankful to all the academic and administrative staff for their support. Dealing with the crisis as an international student studying in London by myself was very depressing, but the Faculty’s effort to help all students including the international students helped me to continue with my research project without any problems.

What are you doing now/What do you plan on doing after graduation?

I am currently doing my research project with Dr Shivani Misra and Dr Matthew R. Lewis to study whether metabonomic profiling can improve diabetes subtype classification. After graduation, I am planning to pursue a PhD.
