What is governance

Research governance is about ensuring that research is scientifically sound and ethically appropriate. An underlying principal is that participants rights, safety, well-being and confidentiality prevails over the interests of investigators, science and society.

The British Lung Foundation Early COPD development partnership study has received ethics approval. Participants with any concerns should contact the lead investigator at their site or the Patient Advisory and Liaison service (PALS) at their hospital.
