Chain-Florey logoOn 21 March 2019, the London Institute of Medical Sciences (MRC) at Imperial celebrated 10 years of the Chain-Florey Clinical Research scheme. The Chain-Florey Clinical Research Scheme was established in 2009. It provides trainees with an opportunity to do basic science research in the laboratories of the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS). The scheme offers structured research and academic opportunities at various stages of clinical training from the Foundation Year 2 (FY2) level through specialist training (ST) to academic positions.

Joined by current clinical researchers, alumni and invited guests the celebratory symposium on 21 March was open to all to attend. Discussions covered latest research innovations alongside the challenges of balancing clinical practice and research through your career and the funding and research opportunities available to clinical researchers.
